1. What is the NYC 16-Hour CCW Course?

The 16-hour CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) course is a state-mandated training program for individuals seeking a New York concealed carry permit. It covers firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, situational awareness, legal responsibilities, and live-fire training.

2. Do I need to take this class to get a concealed carry permit in NYC?

Yes, this course is a mandatory requirement for those applying for a concealed carry permit in NYC. You must also pass a written test & 2-hour live-fire qualification as part of the application process.

3. What does the course include?

The course is divided into two days:

• Classroom Training (16 hours): Covers firearm safety, legal use of force, de-escalation techniques, and state/local firearm laws.
• Live-Fire Training (2 hours): Includes shooting exercises to demonstrate firearm proficiency and safety.

4. Do you offer training for Retired MOS (Members of Service)?

Yes! We specialize in providing CCW training for Retired MOS, ensuring they meet all legal and proficiency requirements for their concealed carry permit. We also understand the unique needs and experience of retired law enforcement and tailor our training accordingly.

5. Who can enroll in the course?

Anyone who meets the following criteria can enroll:

• At least 21 years old.
• A legal U.S. resident.
• Able to pass a federal background check.
• Not prohibited from owning firearms under state or federal law.

6. How much does the course cost?

Reserve your spot in our 16-hour CCW course for just $100, with the remaining balance due on the first day of class. The course fee covers all 2 days of classroom instruction, materials, live-fire training, shooting glasses, ammunition, and the use of a firearm.

7. What should I bring to the class?

Your State DL/ID everything else will provide for you.

8. Where is the class held?

The classroom training and the live-fire portion takes place at Trigon Tactics in Woodhaven, Queens NY. Directions and further details will be provided upon registration.

9. How do I register for the course?

10. Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?

Yes, upon successfully completing the training, passing the written test and the live-fire qualification, you will receive a certificate of completion, which you’ll need for your NYPD concealed carry permit application

11. Can I reschedule if I can’t attend my scheduled class?

Yes, we understand that things come up. Contact us at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule your class without additional fees. Your registration fee is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase & can be applied for your make-up class.

12. What happens if I fail the course?

If you fail to meet the required standards, we offer additional training and support to help you improve your skills and ultimately pass the course with no extra cost to you.

13. Do you provide private or group training options?

Yes, we offer private and group training sessions for those seeking a more personalized experience. Contact us for rates and availability.

14. How long is my certificate valid?

Your certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

15. Do you offer other firearms training courses?

Our 16 Hour CCW classes are led by a Retired New York Police officers & is a FBI | NYS -DCJS | NRA Firearms Instructor.

17. Where else is this certificate valid?

Your certificate from our class can also be used to obtain a Florida Non-Resident CCW Pistol Permit which let's you carry legally in 37 other states

18. How many states can I carry legally when I get my NYC CCW Permit?

New York City concealed carry (CCW) permits are valid in 25 states that are Constitutional Carry States.

19. What are the Prerequisites to take this course?

To get a CCW permit in New York, you must: Be at least 21 years old, A legal resident of the US. Have no felony convictions or serious offenses, Complete the 16 hour firearms safety courses, Pass a background check, have no history of mental issues, and submit fingerprints and photographs. 

20: Can I still apply for a NYC CCW if i got arrested in the past?
